Description

by Brenda Jackson

This is not a play but a sequence of seven dramatic poems. The first five are the recollections and reactions of mainly unnamed individual witnesses to some of the events of Holy Week, with the sixth being a dialogue between Lady Joanna and her husband. The final poem imagines the thoughts of someone who contemplates the medieval Ascension stained glass window in Fairford Church, Gloucestershire.

These unusual and lovely pieces would be ideal for inclusion in services during Lent.
